Spelt Chapatis are a wonderful breakfast flatbread and are lighter than yeast breads. Here is the simple recipe to prepare your own.

Spelt Chapatis



Makes 10

2 cups Spelt

1/2 cup Warm water

1 tbsp Ghee

pinch of Turmeric, Cumin

1/2 tsp Himalayan salt

  1. Make a dough with the ingredients and leave to rest with a damp cloth for 10 mins. 

  2. Roll into a log and divide into 10 rounds and shape into balls.

  3. With a rolling pin flatten them until they are 2mm thick and place in a pan with no oil for 30 seconds on a medium heat.

  4. As they brown turn over and cook the other side.

  5. Delight and enjoy!  Add ghee on warm and watch it melt.
